In an effort to create a more synergistic compliance program, competitors in the business world are partnering in the safety-world. Through state-based associations, pipeline and natural gas companies are aligning funding, messaging and documentation efforts through a collaborative approach. The process of organizing an association, the management of a statewide training program as well as shared-compliance documentation will be the focus of this Case Study.

Members of the State of Texas Collaborative API RP-1162 Committee will discuss the benefits of their efforts regarding the 2007 mass media campaign (cable, prime time news, radio and selected newspapers) addressing both the non-customer/affected customer requirement of API's RP-1162 parts 192 and 195.
